I am having some difficulty with getting one OT to understand that she needs to write goals and work on skills for a preschool braille learner/writer who lacks dexterity, finger isolation, and strength just like she would for one who is a pencil and paper writer. She cannot see the difference and her goals that we did manage to "pull" out of her are, for lack of a better word, lame. I have even written some for her to show her. We share many students so I have seen those other goals she does write for the pencil pushers. I have spent time with her talking about the sameness and differences, trying to educate her about working with a student with a visual impairment, etc etc. I understand her newness in this situation but she has years of experience to pull from and should start to develop appropriate goals. Help!
Denise
