Jill,
You may want to purchase the Tactile Graphics Kit from American Printing House. This will give you some guidelines to teaching these concepts. The braille protractor is counted by 5's. The student would line up the straight edge to the straight edge of the graphic then move the marker so that it lines up with the tactile line of the graphic. The student is able to count by 5's to determine the degrees of the angle. I find that it is difficult for some students to hold the protractor in place while moving the marker. Have you tried researching the TSBVI website for more information?

Subject: [AERNet] Middle/high school math question
Is there anything out there on using a braille protractor with angles and to draw/measure with circle graphs? I have never used one and need to teach my student how to do these tasks. Thanks in advance.
Jill
