[AERNet] What's' Normal?

Ike:

Thanks for the bit of humor at the expense of the "normal" folks
(whoever they are).

A statistics professor of mine always reminded his classes that "normal"
was defined as a "hypothetical statistical average"; not necessarily a
trait to be pursued.

Have a good weekend.

Greg

Subject: [AERNet] What's' Normal?

Hi All,

The word "normal" is so often used by people in our society that I'm not
sure we all mean the same thing. I think we all find it a bit
"off-putting" when people refer to individuals who are not blind or
visually impaired, or have some other disability, as "normal."

A friend of mine gave me one of those daily tear off calendars last
Christmas that's titled, "That's FUNNY!" It's almost mid year and I'd
say that about 10% of them strike me as really funny, but the one for
Wednesday, June 20, is definitely worth sharing.

"Normal is nothing more than a cycle on a washing machine."

Have a great weekend,

Ike
