Thanks, Sheila for sharing about the Braille is Beuatiful Kit. It looks like it would be an excellent addition to an itinerant VI teacher's toolbox. I have also used in the past the Braille Bug materials from APH.

Check out the Braille is Beautiful kit... it's designed for such a purpose.

Braille Is Beautiful is a disability awareness curriculum for sighted
children, grades 4 and up. It is a fun program with workbooks for the kids,
videos, tons of handouts, word games, and exercises. It has everything a
regular classroom teacher or youth leader needs to show sighted students
how to read and write simple Braille letters and numbers.

Could a few of you please assist me. I am trying to comprise a list of good literature (all levels) to use as part of in-service lesson for regular ed sighted classes to promote understanding and tolerance for students who are blind or visually impaired.
Please list the title(s) of a few books or your favorite book. I would like to have the name, author, (if known), approximate grade level(s), a brief description of the book, and why you like it.
Thanks so much for your help.
