Dear Kimberly,

I have adapted DIBELS for students who are VI. I enlarged the student reading sample into the preferred font and point size for my students. You can also print it on preferred color contrast paper.

You will need a copy of the reading prompt that you can easily mark on while you student reads. You will also need a timer that you can set for 1 minute.

I found it useful to organize each grade level that I was using in a 3-ring binder, with an area to store each kid's (in that level) record book.

DIBELS is not really an "exam" but a "progress monitoring" tool, designed to be used in weekly 1-minute probes to measure reading rates in "words correct per minute" also known as WCPM.

I hope this helps.
