[AERNet] reading rates

Even assuming that a given individual could read large print faster than
braille, would reading rate be the only criteria for choosing between large
print and braille?  (I'm obviously thinking of someone with a stable visual
condition.)

My understanding is that reading large print is very tiring and cannot be
sustained for very long whereas braille reading doesn't present this
problem.
