[AERNet] crossed eyes

I have a three year old student who has CVI as a result of incredible amounts of seizures, which are still ongoing. She is completely non-ambulatory, nonverbal, and almost non-responsive except for a startle response. I took some of Lillie Nielson's ideas combined with some of Christine Roman's ideas and built a Little Room with all yellow objects. Her response has been incredible. When she is playing, her eyes simply go crazy to put it one way. They cross intensely, then go out, cross again, then go out. I know she sees the objects because she actually reaches for them and will not react to other colored objects. But there is no hint of intentional eye movement that I can detect. When we take her out of the Room, she simply quiets and goes back to passive. Her eyes will cross, but not very often. Anyone have any idea if there is a purpose--albeit unconscious--to the eye crossing?
