Subject: [AERNet] Retention/Necessary Time

In California it is very difficult to make the case
for academic retention when a student with visual
impairment is floundering because of lack of adequate
skill development. Has anything been published lately
about the need for some students with visual
impairment to spend additional years in school in
order to obtain necessary skill development in the
Expanded Core Curriculum along with their progression
in the Core Curriculum? Any thoughts and/or references
would be appreciated. Thanks,
