Hey list, to those of us interested in applications of reading
remediation for kiddos who are blind and dyslexic, here's some great
news I just received from Barbara Wilson of Wilson Language Programs.
Yaahoooo!

Hi Anne Marie:

I hope all is well with you. It has been awhile since we connected!
Thank you for inquiring about Wilson's efforts to help serve the blind
and visually impaired community. I am happy to share with you the
details of our current initiatives. Wilson has given permission to
American Printing House for The Blind, Inc. to publish the Wilson
Reading System(r) in Braille and Large Print. APH has so far produced
the Student Readers 1-3 in Braille and plans to introduce them at an
upcoming conference. We continue to work with APH as it works towards
making the complete WRS program available in Braille and large print.

Wilson is also in the process of preparing electronic files meeting the
National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standards (NIMAS).
Several of our publications have been added to the National
Instructional Materials Accessibility Center repository. Although a
time consuming process, this effort is ongoing and a priority for
Wilson.

Wilson recognizes the need to increase the availability and timely
delivery of materials such as the Wilson Reading System and
Foundations(r) in accessible format to struggling readers who are also
blind or visually impaired. We are sincere in our efforts to make
literacy available to all!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Anne Marie.

Best,

Barbara
