I use the Caratec from Independent Living Aids. I find it useful because it gives the standard name "red", but it will also give more description as "dark cherry red". It also has dynamic measurement which provides the red, blue, and green saturation for those who want to be precise in knowing that two light greens are actually the same shade. You can also ddetermine the colors of a striped or plad item as well.
Good luck in finding out what works for your student.

Subject: [AERNet] color detector
Does anyone have experience with color detectors? My student would like to get one and we don't know which one works well. We just saw one called a "Voice-it-all" and it also is a recorder and a money identifier Does anyone have any experience with this?
