[AERNet] Perceptual issues

I was just asked about a student with autism who was prescribed prism
glasses by her developmental ophthalmologist. Apparently without the
Prism glasses, the student has no depth perception at all but with the
glasses there has been a marked improvement.
I always understood that to qualify for vision services the student
needed to have an acuity of 20/70 or worse or a field loss. Are their
any precedents for perceptual issues? What services could I offer this
child? What could I do with a child like this? This seems more like
the child needs Vision Therapy by a CVT, which I'm not qualified for.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
