Borenson Associates makes the Hands on Equations manipulatives which allows
the introduction of algebra as early as 3rd grade. I have advised that the
manipulatives are easily adapted for blind students, but I have not actually
used the system with my secondary students. Nevertheless, I know that a few
of you out there have used these successfully with elementary students.
Therefore, if you have already adapted this system, including brailling the
accompanying written material and equations and are willing to share, will
you please let me know. I've had some folks inquiring about this from me,
and I am hoping that they will not have to re-invent the wheel if someone
else has already done all this. I can even offer you a spot on my portion of
the TSBVI website to share with the world!!

Clues: According to Borenson, their manuals were translated into Braille a
few years ago. They believe it may have been done in New York and/or a
school for the blind. Unfortunately, they do not know who has the
translations.

Thanks in advance and best wishes,
Susan
