[AERNet] FVA on child who just had cataract surgery

Hi all,
I will be conducting and FVA on a 2 1/2 yr old next week. She had cataract surgery in July and an artificial lense was put in; wears prescription glasses (transition and progressive [+0.75/ -0.75 I believe--mom couldn't read the writing, so I don't know where the decimal point goes]); and is patched 80% of the day. Mom patches from morning 'till bed without breaks. ( I suggested, if possible, that she check with the doctor to confirm this is OK and watch the left eye to note any changes.) She asked the doctor about vision therapy but said he didn't recommend it because the patching is the therapy. Mom wants the eval. just to make sure her daughter is on track visually, but reports that her daughter just started preschool and is doing well. She did notice face-turns in the beginning, but not so much now. SO....here are my questions: Am I conducting this eval. with glasses and patch on or off (I'm thinking off)? She's being monitored by her doctor, who said (according to mom), that the glasses will only help a little. What does this mean exactly? Lastly, if anyone has worked with or is working with a child who has had cataract surgery (with lense replacement), any specific suggestions as to what I might be looking for would be of great help.
As always, I thank you in advance.
