[Personnelprep] AER University Review Process

Hi Fabiana,
I certainly understand your concern. Actually, the 'current' process is
a new process that was presented to the divisions for comment and
recently approved by the board. It would be helpful if you could send
your comments to either me or Jim, whichever you prefer. We actually
only need 1 vote per university unless the opinions differ so you might
check with your colleagues at Salus as they may have responded to the
survey.

Thanks again, Fabiana!

Subject: Re: [Personnelprep] AER University Review Process

Hello Jim. I understand the importance of discussing this topic and
wanted to take part in the survey. However, when I opened it and saw it
was a Yes/No kind of survey that did not allow for comments or any
alternative options, I found it hard to complete. At this point, I do
not feel comfortable voting for a definite Yes or a definite No. My
support to some sort of University approval process might depend on the
nature of such process, how it will be conducted, and with what purpose,
among other considerations. If the question had been "do you support
continuing with the current AER Universtity Review Process?" it would
have been an easier task, but voting on a future, unknown process is
another thing. What exactly am I supporting or not when I cast my vote?

Hope this makes sense.
Fabiana Perla

Dear members of the Personnel Preparation Division:

Many of you know that ACVREP recently proposed dropping the AER
university
approval from the certification requirements for O&M and VRT. You may
also
recall that the AER University Review Committee has worked for the last
2
years to improve and update the administrative review process in order
to
provide vision-specific expertise and evaluation of our university
programs.

If you have O&M and/or VRT programs in your university, please click the
survey link below:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=_2fwp6Jk9N9EeiJIPrhJhVJQ_3d_3d

We need 100% participation by Friday. It is only 3 questions and takes 2
seconds; your comments will remain completely confidential.

Thank you for your quick response, the survey will close on 11/20/2009.

July 1, 2008.
