[Personnelprep] NCLB test

Hi Everyone,

At the last business meeting, Nov. 3rd, we began the discussion about
the NCLB Braille test and the fact that NFB, who owns the test, might be
contacting state Depts. of Ed. to require this before TVIs are licensed.

There were some concerns from some on the call, about 1) a required code
of ethics (to be signed before taking the test), 2) the lack of data
about the validity of the test, 3) the cost and length of the test, and
4) having another entity decide how universities teach and assess
competencies.

Certainly, these comments were from those who spoke up. Kim and I would
like to know how we, as a Division, feel about this issue. Can we start
a discussion?
