Subject: [Vocrehab] REMINDER: Research Participation Opportunity
Hello AER Division 2, 7, 9, 10, & 11 List Serv Members!
Do you want to make a difference in the professional quality of life of
Blindness and Low Vision Service Providers? Are you:
- 18-70 years of age?
- a Low Vision Therapist, Orientation & Mobility Specialist,
Rehabilitation Counselor with a blind caseload, Teacher of Children with
Visual Impairments, or a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist?
- Currently employed a minimum of 20 hrs/week?
If so, we need your help!
If you meet the guidelines above, you are cordially invited to
participate in a research project entitled "Burnout, Compassion Fatigue,
and Compassion Satisfaction among Blindness and Low Vision Service
Providers". The study is being conducted by Jennipher Wiebold, Ph.D.,
CRC from Western Michigan University, Department of Blindness and Low
Vision Studies and Penny Willmering, Ph.D., CRC, LPC from Arkansas Tech
University.
The anonymous survey is comprised of demographic information, 30 Likert
scale questions, and two short answer items. The survey will take
approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. Your replies will be
completely anonymous, no identifying information is collected.
Participation in the research study may not directly benefit you.
However, this study may enhance the research base in the field of
Blindness and Low Vision Studies through providing knowledge regarding
burnout, compassion fatigue, and compassion satisfaction in the
profession. It is hoped that results can be used to improve the
professional quality of life for service providers.
