Hello Everyone!

I wanted to take this opportunity to personally welcome you all to this new AER Canada listserve. I am YOUR representative on the AER Board of Directors, and I am standing for the position for the next two years as well. I have only been in this position since December/January, when I was asked to fill the vacancy. So I was not duly elected yet!

I work for CNIB in research and program development, assisting with developing evidence-based programs and pathways to service. My portfolio also includes professional development (pre-service and in-service).

I wanted to start up this listserve so that we would all have a way to communicate concerns and questions to each other.

The spring Board meeting is next Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, and I will report back to you any key issues that come up.

The international conference will take place this summer in San Antonio, Texas. Please let me know if you will be attending, and I hope you can make the Canadians' breakfast! I also hope to organize a Canadians' evening out, like we did in Little Rock (for those who were there you will remember a VERY good time!!)...will keep you posted as we get closer to the time.

I'd also like your ideas on how we can increase our Canadian membership numbers in AER. The benefits keep increasing, now that there is access for members to top notch webinars and online education.

Finally, I am planning to have a webinar style opportunity just for Canadians, hosted by our Board President and Executive Director...so stay tuned for that!!!

Look forward to the knowledge exchange.

And for those in Ontario, I look forward to meeting you in person at the AER Ontario AGM on May 31 at WRMS!! (with the wonderful keynote speaker Dr. Lauren Lieberman).

Please use the listserve, and look forward to hearing from you very soon!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Deborah.
