Hello,
Our district has spent this year 'Going Google' which means every student
has a laptop and all work is done using Google Classroom, Docs, Slides,
etc...  This has made accessing the curriculum very difficult.  I can't
seem to get JAWS, MAGic 13 or Zoomtext 10.1 to work appropriately when
acting as a screen reader.  Has anyone else experienced 'Going Google'.
What are you doing for a screen reader?
Thanks in advance,
Kristie

I asked a coworker and this is what he said:

All the Google apps work in the Internet browser, just as your Gmail does, so functionality depends on the AT compatibility with the browser. Google and Freedom Scientific both report compatibility with JAWS and document keyboard commands. AT version numbers are a critical issue when dealing with browsers … typically latest versions of the AT for compatibility with IE 11, and then “maybe” support for Firefox and Chrome browsers. Firefox and Chrome might even require some “extensions” to be installed for AT to work. Google Chrome browser might be iffy for magnification.

Instructions for the Google Docs apps with screen reader:
To turn on screen reader support for Google Docs editors on the web, press Control + Alt + z (on Windows) or ⌘ + Option + z (on Mac) in your document, spreadsheet, presentation, form, or drawing.
Unless you turn off this setting, screen reader support stays on whenever you use Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, or Drawings on the web.

Hope this helps.
