AERNET Colleagues,

I hope this Monday is going well for you. I just shared the below email
with several programs throughout the US that provide services to children
with visual impairments. We don’t have a list of all the programs, so I
thought I’d ask each of my AER colleagues to take a moment and share this
request with at least one other individual.

We truly need to everyone’s help to recruit participants for our reflective
study.

Thanks,

Penny

Hello!

My name is Penny Rosenblum and I am the Director of Research at the
American Foundation for the Blind. A team of researchers is currently
recruiting for our Reflection on a Year of Education During COVID-19
https://www.afb.org/research-and-initiatives/education/covid19-education-research/access-engagement-three.
We’re looking for families (focus groups in English and Spanish),
teens/those in their early 20s receiving education under IDEA (13 years+),
general ed teachers, special ed teachers, paraprofessionals, early
intervention providers, school district administrators, TVIs, and O&M
specialists. We especially want your help reaching families and teens,
though encouraging them to reach out to others would be great.

I’ve attached a family friendly email along with our recruitment flyers in
English and Spanish.

announcing the availability of the Second Access and Engagement report
https://www.afb.org/research-and-initiatives/education/covid19-education-research/access-engagement-two
that shares how COVID was impacting education in November. We also released
a blog post

I wrote that talks about the findings of the report and the reflection
study.

Please help us share the stories of our students, their families, and all
those invested in their education. Let me know if you can share or what you
need from me or our AFB staff to help us get the word out.

With appreciation,

Penny
