All people who use speech programs wish there was a way to turn off the chat info.
It is like people having a conversation while someone is speaking. Two voices—both at the same volume—are talking.
For me, it is a courtesy during the time of the formal presentation to ask people to minimize their use of chat to “send comments to all” and to ask them to direct their comments and questions “to host only”.

Hi Roberta,
We use Zoom meeting specifically to encourage people to talk in the chat. It helps people feel more connected to one another. Are you able to turn that part of your voiceover off, so you don't have to be bothered by it? That way, you can just go in to ask your question, and then leave the chat again.
Best,
Kassy

It interferes greatly for those using speech.
Thanks,

Hi John,
I’m not sure you should do this unless it is decided that everyone do it. It would be better to be consistent.
