Hi Roberta,
I understand that it's frustrating. I found an article on Google that says Alt+H will get you out of the chat if you're using Jaws. Here's an article from Zoom that might be more helpful. If the board requests, we can ask the participants to not use the chat. That does take away from the collaborative experience though.
Best,
Kassy

I am not aware of a way to silence the voice reading the chat info.
If there was, I would be pleased to hear about it.

Hey Roberta,
We need the chat open to the whole group so the monitor and Allied’s customer service can answer any questions. Is there a way to mute the chat so it doesn’t constantly add extra chatter to the screen reader experience?
Micah

ATTENTION: This email was sent from an external source. Please be extra vigilant when opening attachments or clicking links.
Once the speaker starts, could we please ask people to direct their chat to the host and not to all participants including comments and questions?
It interferes greatly for those using speech.
Thanks,
Roberta
