BLIND LEADERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is pleased to announce that
applications are open throughout April for the third cohort of the Blind
Leaders Development Program, which kicks off the week of August 1 through
5, 2022.

AFB proposes to unleash 100 new leaders into the world who are blind or
have low vision in the next 5 years. As we endeavor to increase the number
of blind people in positions of leadership, at work as well as in their
community, we need your support to find the right participants.

Who should apply?

We are looking for early to mid-career individuals with vision loss who
would like to develop their leadership skills as Fellows, as well as mid to
late-career individuals who are blind or have low vision with leadership
experience to serve as their Mentors.

What will Fellows and Mentors gain from the Blind Leaders Development
Program?

  • Build and sharpen leadership skills through formal behavior-based
    leadership training

  • Learn practical techniques to communicate and network with confidence
    from successful blind leaders

  • Be part of a supportive community of leaders and emerging leaders that
    will last a lifetime

  • Attend events to connect with people who are pursuing similar goals

Join our online information session, “Get the 411 on the AFB Blind Leaders
Development Program”, on April 11, 2022 from 7:30 to 8:30 PM EDT. Register
