Dear Colleague, My name is Grace Johanns and I am a research assistant and master’s student in the Department of Special Education, Visual Disabilities Program at Vanderbilt University. I am writing to ask if you have a message board, listserv or newsletter where we would be able to post an announcement about a research study we are recruiting for? Our study, titled, “Multilingual? Multidisciplinary!” is an online survey ( https://redcap.link/w3c0rjwp ) asking TVI and ESL teachers how prepared they feel and to what extent to they collaborate for students with visual impairments who are English Language Learners. We are hoping to get participation from teachers from throughout the United States.   Kindly respond if you have a newsletter or listserv/email blast that you or we could forward our announcement to, and I attach an email template to share with your members or a brief statement to include in a newsletter or message board.   Thank you in advance for your time, Grace Johanns - - - - - - - - - - - - Have you worked with students who are English Language Learners? Have you worked as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or English as a Second Language Teacher between 2020 and today? Then we want to hear from you! We’re recruiting participants for a research study titled to better understand how prepared teachers feel to work with students with visual impairments (blind or low vision) who are also English language learners. For teachers who have worked with students with visual impairments who are also English language learners, we also want to learn about your experience collaborating with your student’s Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or English as a Second Language Teacher as well as what instructional methodologies, approaches, and informal strategies you have used with students. The full survey may take as little as 10 minutes or upwards of 45-90 minutes to complete depending on how much you choose to share with us.
