Only a few more days for US adults who are VI to share their pandemic experiences and advice

Hi Colleagues,

Our AFB research team is starting to take an early look at some of the
responses we are getting from those taking the #JourneyForward survey. THE
SURVEY CLOSES AT 11:59 PM MONDAY! We've heard from people who became more
independent during the pandemic to those who felt no one was meeting their
needs. When asked to share advice, they had a lot to say. A common thread
is exemplified in this quote. "All emergency plans need to include a
detailed disability accommodation plan which is informed by input from
members of the local disability community. All emergency information needs
to be provided in formats that are accessible to people with visual,
hearing and cognitive impairments. Emergency planners must also accommodate
people who don't drive or have access to private automobiles. Giving people
with disabilities a lower priority for receiving medical care and other
emergency services is utterly immoral." What do you think? Please take the
survey if you are a VI U.S. adult. Share widely!
