The informational webinar is was recorded on 6/23/22, but the recording is available on the webpage linked above.

The National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM), supported by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), is now accepting applications for its Community Mobility Design Challenge 2022 grant. These grants will support communities in researching and creating innovative mobility solutions for community members who face transportation barriers in advancing their health and well-being. Grants of up to $25,000 will be available, as well as NCMM facilitation through the entire process. The deadline for responses is July 15, 2022, 11:59 p.m., ET.

Over the course of the Design Challenge grants’ existence, 36 communities have worked with NCMM to conduct a deep-dive of their community’s mobility challenges, uncover important service insights, and select a customer-centered transportation solution. Successful teams then move into the next phase of our Community Mobility Design Challenge grant suite, the Learning Launch – in which teams will fully develop their solution into a transportation service through an Operations Plan, eventually testing elements of the service out in their community.

·        You can learn more about the grants and download the application herehttps://nationalcenterformobilitymanagement.org/design-challenge-2022/.

Here's what recent Design Challenge team members have said about the grant:

·        "This process was phenomenal, and we learned so much about transportation, our concept, and our team members. We have actually adopted the processes for an internal service innovation that our agency is undergoing."

·        "Our team got a lot of enjoyment out of the design phase. We learned a lot and are happy with the concept we ended up with… I appreciate all the guidance we have received from NCMM and am happy to continue working with them."

·        "The conducting research, uncovering insights, and generating ideas/solution concepts activities were all highly effective and allowed for our team to quickly identify local issues that we could work towards developing solution concepts for."
