Subject: [Nfbnet-master-list] NFB of Utah Announces BlindHow.com Website
The NFB of Utah is taking websites to the next level and we want to reward you with an iPad 2 for helping us. The NFB of Utah is excited to announce a new website, BlindHow.com. BlindHow.com allows for community members to view and share video, audio, or written tutorials and information on a myriad of topics regarding blindness and visual impairment.
Topics could include, "How do you use an iPhone with voiceover?" "This is how I put on makeup every day, how do you?" "How do you mow your lawn?" "This is how I downhill ski."
If you can't find the answer you are looking for, then we want you to ask! If you have something to share, then become a contributor today! We know that there are many different ways to do one thing. For example, I may iron my shirt one way ... and you another! Knowledge is power and sharing is caring! You can make a difference!
On July 1, 2011, BlindHow.com will be implementing an exciting incentive program! The purpose? We want you to visit, sign up, test drive, make comments, rank content, and become a contributor by submitting articles, videos and audio! There are thousands of resources on the web available, but they are scattered and take valuable time to find and sift through. Submit content from the web that you have found enlightening, positive, and/or helpful. We also encourage original articles, videos, or audio tutorials! We want and welcome both!
Prizes such as iTunes cards, Apple TV and iPad 2 will be rewarded during the incentive time period. Check out the website at BlindHow.com today and click on the "Win an iPad" link for more information and sign up today! For additional questions, suggestions, or input please email: adam@blindhow.commailto:adam@blindhow.com.
With your help, BlindHow.com will become the premiere, one-stop website for questions and answers related to blindness or visual impairment.
Coming to the NFB National Convention in Orlando Florida? BlindHow.com and the incentive program will be explained on July 5, in the following two breakout sessions:
6:00 - 8:00 pm-NEWSLETTER PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE
Suwannee 18, Level 2 Newsletters rule! But what about e-mail lists, Web sites, social media, and the future of communication?
8:00 - 9:30 pm-WEBMASTERS MEETING
Suwannee 20, Level 2 A meeting for all NFB affiliate and division Webmasters to discuss the importance of an informative, accessible, and visually attractive Website.
Keep Striving and we will see you there!
