AER Personnel Prep Colleagues,

The National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC) is working with my company, Vision for Independence, LLC, to conduct interviews and focus groups to better understand the current level of accessibility of digital instructional materials in K-12, the experiences of students who are visually impaired or print disabled when using these materials, and the challenges involved in making materials accessible to all students. Recruitment has been very slow. We have connected with some transcribers, TVIs, and APH-EOTs. We have not had much success with publishers, and no success with special education teachers or procurement staff.

Can I please ask for 10 minutes of your time? I know you're busy!

Please forward the attached flyer, ideally with a short note from you, to your colleagues in special education. Can you ask them to assist us in reaching special ed teachers who have students with print disabilities? And of course, we'd love you to share the information with TVIs and transcribers in your network.

With appreciation,
Penny
