Gathering Data

Hi All,

I am wondering if any of the university programs would be interested in gathering data from across the U.S. that can be used in grant applications and to provide a better idea of the status of services. My thought is to engage the Lions’ Club in gathering the data. They have chapters nearly everywhere in the US. What I am proposing is a method of asking chapters to take on the task of calling school districts and finding out such things as whether they have TVIs working for their districts, how many are employed, how many are contracted, numbers of children with visual impairments being served, and so forth. A PI would need to come up with the questions.

Last week I was at the International Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation  (ISLRR) conference which was held in Denver. The Lions were very present helping attendees and doing other tasks. This was wonderful to see. I spoke with someone from the Lions Club who goes to their national conferences and is interested in pairing with a university to help in gathering needed data.

I am no longer interested in being a PI for a study. If this idea appeals to you, please send me an email at Anne123C@gmail.com

Thanks.
Anne
