Good morning,
FYI, please see announcement below. Still accepting registrants for this free event. This is a GREAT opportunity if you are in striking distance of Pittsburgh!
Hi everyone,
Please share the information below and attached to anyone who might be interested in attending our Vision for Work Expo. Thank you!
You are invited to attend the Pittsburgh Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services first annual Vision for Work Expo! A flyer is attached.
During the morning session, network with workers who are blind and visually impaired. Learn from them one-on-one about how they do their jobs as software developers, human resource specialists, chefs, teachers, and many more. Then, join us for lunch as our keynote speaker, a blind recruiter, gives tips and tricks on getting hired. During the afternoon session, check out the exhibit tables of assistive technology vendors, low vision specialists, service providers, and blindness consumer organizations to learn about the latest technology and services. Job seekers and students can also sign up to receive one-on-one resume help and a mock interview from one of our rehabilitation professionals.
This free event will be held on Friday, October 28 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Rodef Shalom Congregation in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. It is easily accessible by public transportation, and parking is available. To register for the event, please email Catherine Getchell at cgetchell@pa.govmailto:cgetchell@pa.gov, or call her at (412) 565-5520. Sighted guides will be available for anyone who needs assistance navigating the expo.
