Greetings!
Today a guidance counselor shared JAWS is not always compatible with online study tools when preparing for the SAT or ACT. Can anyone direct us to a specific site they know to be fluid in its use or apps used with voice over?
With gratitude,
Kim

Often, materials such as those presented on test prep web sites are written in such a way to defeat possible methods of grabbing screen information. This is usually the very thing JAWS or any other screen reader needs to access the information.
Contact the test provider to inquire about accessible versions. At least this way they know accessibility is an issue.

It may also be worth while to try NVDA as there are somethings that cause
issue with JAWS that are not an issue for NVDA and vice versa of course !

Hello –

This information was shared by one of the staff members in our Accessible Tests and Textbooks Department here at APH.

“One provider of online test prep which claims to be accessible, including alt tags for graphics, is the Learning Express Library. They offer a plethora of test prep - ACT, SAT, GED, GRE, AP exams and more - and it will track the user's progress. It requires a subscription, but I know that the Louisville Free Public Library offers this free of charge to patrons. Maybe other libraries and schools also have access to this resource?”
I hope this was helpful –

Janie
