Hello,
I have a student who is very hesitant about shopping due to her visual impairment. In particular, she gets frustrated when trying to locate clothing tags (prices and sizes) on clothing. I have found a few tips on the usual sites (use a personal shopper, use magnifier, phone, monocular, take a friend, have clear idea of what you are looking for in advance). I was wondering if anyone has any additional suggestions for making shopping easier with low vision. This student has a lot of angst about making the purchase. Would you encourage her to ask for the total or help her locate the cash register where the total will be displayed using monocular? Any personal experiences great appreciated.
Sincerely,
Kim Lovett
