Dear All:
I'm excited to share the details and registration for the 2nd Spring
Tactile Art Workshop that we have planned in partnership with Museum of
Contemporary Art, Denver and guest artist *Erin Schalk *(link below) for
middle or high school students who are blind or have low vision on *Thursday,
March 11 at 5pm (5pm to 6:30pm MT) *with more tactile workshops planned on
every Thursday in March at 5pm (March 18, 25)
The workshop is FREE for all registered participants and the materials
for the workshops will be mailed to the first 15 registered participants
prior to the event. I can't thank Museum of Contemporary Arts Denver
enough for making this possible.
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mca-denver-teens-self-portrait-through-text-image-w-erin-schalk-tickets-143833462759
In this workshop, students will work collaboratively to create acrostic
poems and translate this text into tactile collages. Students will also
learn tips and techniques for working with embossed collage papers and
mixed media materials, adding unique shapes, textures, and raised objects
to their text. When finished, participants will have created unique,
artistic representations of themselves that emphasize the inner, more
abstract qualities of human personalities.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you have any trouble
registering for the workshop.
Best Regards,
Rishika
