Hi everyone!  This announcement is for two seminars on O&M for DeafBlind people.

One is the comprehensive HKNC seminar I’ve told you about before – we almost have the number of registrants we need to make this happen.  The online segment is May 10-23, 2020 and the in-person,  feet-in-the-street segment at the HKNC campus in Sands Point, NY will be Tuesday-Friday, May 26-29, 2020.  The flier with more information is at www.helenkeller.org/sites/default/files/docs/om_2020_flyer.pdf .

This will be the 15th seminar that Dr. Gene Bourquin, Monica Godfrey-Lehrer and I have done at HKNC (the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults) and we keep learning how to improve it, so this one will be our best so far!  The $900 registration fee includes lodging and food for the in-person part (including some extra nights in case you want to sightsee while you’re in New York!), and helps cover the expenses for 8 interpreters who will be with you for your feet-in-the-street experience with deaf-blind students.

The other learning opportunity is a live, online seminar I’m doing for Allied Instructional Services at 4:30-5:30 pm EST Wednesday, April 29 on teaching DeafBlind people to communicate and interact with the public.  This is not being recorded, but I’m very pleased that you are invited join live at no cost – thank you, AIS!

This event was just confirmed this afternoon so they don’t have registration set up yet, but if you email me, I’ll send you the information as soon as I know it.

Enjoy!
