Hi everyone! Many of us O&Ms see situations which need to change, either in our professional or our personal life. You know something is wrong and you want to make a difference, but you feel overwhelmed or powerless to do anything about it.
My son Stephan and I were invited by New York’s AER chapter to develop a workshop to help colleagues who want to improve the situation. This workshop is based on the book by psychotherapist Dr. Jean-Robert Bayard, who linked activism with psychological well-being. Her book is called How to think if you want to change the world: Spiritual Practices for Social Activism.
To write the book, Dr. Bayard drew on more than 60 years as a psychotherapist helping people regain happiness, and as an ardent activist for humanitarian causes and a devoted student of both Eastern and Western religious philosophies. Dr. Bayard died before the book could be published but her grandson, Stephan Sauerburger, finally got it published this year! Information about Dr. Bayard and her book is at www.magissa.org .
Our interactive workshop, “Changing your world, one step at a time: Practices for making a difference,” introduce Dr. Bayard’s strategies. We will invite you to share your experiences and apply these practices to the challenges you’re facing in your professional or personal life.
The workshop is scheduled for NYSAER’s chapter conference in Syracuse, New York October 21-23, 2018 – information is at https://aerbvi.org/event/together-we-create-opportunities-for-success-2018-nysaer-conference/
We are also doing it at the SOMA conference in Tampa, Florida December 11, 2018 – information is at www.somaconference.org .
Enjoy!
