Hello!
My student and I are unable to find the hotkey to toggle the focus between the chart and spreadsheet table in google sheets. We have looked through the list of hot keys and cannot find one.
Does anyone use Sheets and do you know how to go back and forth between the chart or chart editor, and the spreadsheet table?
We are using NVDA screen reader if that is helpful information but I believe the hotkey will be more on the Google’s platform then through NVDA.
Thank you for any information.

Hello,

I did find a workaround for this.  I am using Jaws but translate the Jaws keystrokes to NVDA and I think it will work.  When you first insert the Chart Jaws will announce the cell coordinates where the chart is located then:

  1. Move to a cell covered by the chart.
  2. Use the Num Pad / which is like using the left Mouse button in Jaws.
  3. This will open the Chart Editor and focus is placed in this task Pane.
  4. Interact with the selections making your choices.
  5. When done press Escape which closes the pane.
  6. Focus is then back in the spreadsheet.

Another source for help is the “BE MY Eyes: app.  It has a section called Specialized Help.  Believe it or not you can actually talk to Google and they can help using the camera on a phone.  If you need further clarification please give me a call.
