question about cane on playground

To the list serve

I would like any suggestions about the use of the cane on the playground.  This student is a preschooler, he has low vision…at school he is storing his cane by the gate of the playground (gets around the playground very well without the cane) but the mother is wondering about ideas for the cane storage at a public playground….any ideas?

My son always carried his cane in a holster that attached to his belt.
Google 'cane holster' and you'll see they are sold at LS&S. The cane itself
must be a foldable cane. This works mostly for boys and I'm  not sure if
they sell small enough holsters for preschoolers, but I thought I'd mention
it.

This might sound strange, but as a pre schooler,  shouldn’t his mother or an adult be with him? Couldn’t this adult keep the cane?
