Good morning!
I had a building administrator contact me this morning that when he tried to download Join Me on to an iPad, he got an error message that the iPad was not connected to the internet, even though he was quite sure that it was connected. Anyone of you wonderful techies care to weigh in on why that would happen and what to do about it?
Thanks and Happy Friday!
Linda
Good morning,
No disrespect to anyone, but is the person downloading the App sure that
they are connected to the internet? What I mean is, they might see that
Wi-Fi is connected, but they may need to open Safari and agree to the terms
of using the internet, or possibly login to the server in question to get
full online access. Just a thought.

What is exasperating is when you have a situation like that and it is that you have been connected to the WIFI and now you are not and safari says that you can't get connected to the server because a connection is unavailable and it's just that it hasn't used cellular and it goes the other way when you want to use serie and get that you are not connected to the internet and it will not let you ask it to dial a number saying you don't have an internet connection. In that case I just have to dial it myself. But it gets irritating and once we had a major problem because we were doing a presentation for MAER and couldn't get connected to the WIFI and we were trying to demonstrate using three types of tablets to people using screen access software. Usually, I make sure I've set up a connection in settings if I know there's a possibility I may have problems getting to something using WIFI. I don't have cellular access to my tablet. So I have to use WIFI.

I am not sure how this particular message was sent again. However, I was replying to someone else on the list. So if you wish to criticize my message content, criticize the original sender for his/her message content. I do believe that accessibility to products and the internet is of importance to this list. If AER is not interested in equal access to everyone, what are we here for? If you had paid any attention to the message, you would have seen that I was not using a phone. I was using a tablet to demonstrate the use of the I Pad and I Pad mini to professionals at the MAER conference in 2015 and we needed access to the conference center's WIFI to do the presentation.
