Hello,
There is a teacher in my district who is blind, but not part of our TVI/O&M staff. The powers that be are calling on us to assist with setting up with JAWS for this staff membwr for summer school. This person has worked for the district for several years and I know it's not the first time AT assistance has been needed, but I'm curious to know if others have been called in to assist with accommodations for adult staff in their districts. Seems to me that this staff person should know what he/she needs (and maybe that's the case) and should be able to advocate without help of special ed staff. I'm not opposed to being helpful, but I'm opposed to administration thinking adult service agencies aren't the solution for their staff.
Thanks in advance for your input.
