Hi, all – The 5th Annual West Virginia Braille Challenge will be held in January. We typically invite some local vendors and folks involved in the blindness world to meet the students, parents and staff. Their interaction time is limited to the free time before and after the event, and time between contests and during lunch. We do introduce our vendors and guests during the opening ceremony.
Two of our vendors are blind... and the students at the school who are taking the Challenge are blind/visually impaired, as are some of the staff. I need to do a better job of facilitating some “action” at their table. We don’t have the time in the day to schedule one-on-one sessions for them with the students or staff. Unfortunately, last year the vendors basically sat at their table, and I think they spoke with only one or two individuals.
Seeking suggestions how to make this a more meaningful interaction for them and for our students/staff. Thanks in advance for your comments.
Sheila
