Hi Everyone,

I hope this email finds all AER members doing well. These are such
challenging times for all of us. I think many of you know I’m the Director
of Research at AFB. Our organization has joined with others to complete two
studies – Access and Engagement focuses on the impact of COVID-19 on
children with VI, TVIs and O&M specialists. Flatten Inaccessibility
focusses on the impact of COVID-19 on adults with visual impairments. Our
sample sizes were 1,660 and 1,921 respectively.

We’re working on our reports. Flatten Inaccessibility will be out shortly
and Access and Engagement in late September/early October. Especially for
Access and Engagement we really want some great photos to show off the hard
work TVIs, O&M specialists, and their students are doing. In addition to
student photos, we do need some photos of TVIs and O&M specialists
preparing materials, surfing the web, assembling a cane in your home office
etc.

Happy to chat with any of you for ideas. Please share with your families
and colleagues. This blog post
https://www.afb.org/blog/entry/afb-needs-you-our-pictures gives all the
details and has a link to the permission form every individual in a photo
must provide.

Thanks,

Penny
