Posting this for some folks at APH:

Your assistance is requested.

The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) has received a proposal to produce a general education leveled reading assessment in braille. IEP Teams are commonly required to use a state or district approved assessment for the determination of instructional intervention and independent reading levels for all students in general education placements. We would appreciate your assistance in providing information such as: the assessment or program used by your school or district, and your thoughts regarding its effectiveness in evaluating the performance of braille readers. A link to a short survey is below.

Our review of recommended programs has considered: quality and variety of content, thoroughness of skill assessment, and flexibility for use with tactile readers. We hope to offer a reading assessment that will accurately evaluate reading proficiency, as well as indicate need for specific intervention. Our purpose is to promote effective braille literacy instruction through a product which supports efficient skill development, and meets general education standards. Your input is vital to our process.

Thank you for your participation.
