…braille or pre-braille readers, or use low vision accommodations….I would
appreciate input from other states on state testing for K-3 graders!
Our state recently adopted an on-line assessment that has been acknowledged
as not accessible for students who are blind or deaf. A committee is
willing to take suggestions for accommodations/adaptations during the
second round of testing in the spring. This on-line test for K-third
graders was chosen because it is interactive, has “game-like” features, and
tests comprehension as well as reading.
Is there an on-line assessment that measures reading/comprehension/etc.
andcould be used with readers of braille or pre-braille? What are other
states using or doing for state testing in this grade range?

Hi Jeanne:
I would welcome the opportunity to chat with you about this offline. I represent an Organization who can provide formal guidance on the accessibility testing front. It’s risky business for the State to acknowledge that it has embraced an interactive, digital platform that does not conform with accessibility guidelines.
Smile
