Could I ask each of you to please share the surveys out with colleagues/networks one more time?  We have compiled all of the surveys into one e-mail (see below).  We would love to have more individuals complete the surveys before we close.

We have several states where we do not yet have any participants/respondents (I am currently creating a list of states responding and would be happy to share that out as soon as the list is compiled).

Please share this e-mail ... (thank you if you have shared the information already!)

We are seeking survey participants - specifically,

  • Parents of children who are blind or visually impaired,

  • Teachers of students with visual impairments (TVIs),

  • Administrators/supervisors of TVIs,

  • University Visual Impairment program faculty, and

  • Braille Transcribers/Paraprofessionals (who prepare braille),

for a current research study.  The more individuals who complete the survey, the more information we will acquire to help us understand the impact of the transition to UEB.  Please take a few minutes to complete the appropriate study (the links are provided below), if you have not already.  The surveys will be open until April 30th. Thank you in advance for your participation.

You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Chris Bischke, Ph.D. and Alexis Redford, M.Ed. at the University of Utah. The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of the transition to Unified English Braille (UEB) from the perspectives of involved individuals.

The goal is to acquire an understanding of the impact of the transition, identify supports for students, states/territories and current TVIs.

For this study, participants will be asked to:

  1. Complete an online survey (less than 10 minutes) and,
  2. if you are willing, participate in one individual interview via phone or Zoom (less than 30 minutes)

To indicate your consent to participate in this study, and to begin the survey, please click the following link:
