Roll with Pearl and OpenBook from VFO-Group if you want something that works seamlessly with Jaws.

beware, though, this week we had 4 different PEARLS that would not work with 2 different HP laptops running windows 10 (and JAWS). VFO support gave us 2 firmware updates to try and did a great job with 2 different support calls but concluded our school district provided HP laptops will not recognize the PEARL and could not find a solution. Now, the district is looking to secure 2 laptops for us that will. If a solution is found, I'll be sure to write back - but - nonetheless, Openbook and a PEARL is usually a stellar combo.

Hi all! I am sending this again since I did not get a response in the fall.
Does anyone have recommendations for scanners they prefer that work with
the Braillenote Apex and JAWS?
Thanks!

Answering on behalf of my friend and colleague, Dominic, who is enjoying
retirement, and probably not subscribed to this list anymore:
If the goal is to use the BrailleNote as a Braille display with jaws, why
not invest in the Pearl camera which seamlessly interfaces with JAWS 2018 to
provide a direct scan and read experience? It's portable and fairly
accurate.

Hello
Another thought...perhaps the Technology Assistance Program in you state
has a Pearl you can borrow to try out. The other idea is to use the long
term, low interest bank loan to purchase a new Pearl instead of using the
Apex.
