Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

We are looking to update our class session that focuses on strategies for teaching braille reading and writing to young children/students who are blind or visually impaired.  Can I ask what resources others are using/sharing with your students to help prepare them for teaching their students to read and write braille?

We talk about prebraille skills/strategies, use a few of the chapters from Instructional Strategies for Braille Literacy (Wormsley and D'Andrea), and a few chapters from Beginning with Braille: Firsthand Experiences with a Balanced Approach to Literacy (Swensen). We talk about the Mangold Developmental Program of Tactual Perception and Braille Letter Recognition and the ABC Braille Study.  I would love to hear what others are using/how you are preparing your students.

Thanks,

Chris
