Hello Colleagues,

Can anyone recommend a tablet that is much less expensive than an iPAD for
a VI child with communication delays? He has some visual interest in
computer images when accompanied by music such as the HelpKidzLearn
website. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kathy

At the moment there are really no good Android based options. The issue is the  version of the Google software currently largely available on lower cost tablets.
Version 3.2 (Honeycomb) has very limited accessibility and by limited I mean almost none.
Version 4 (ice cream sandwich) is being advertised as having better accessibility but is only available on tablets that are competing with the iPad on price. I am waiting for a an upgrade to an Acer Tablet that is anticipated in April (hopefully April of this year). This still leaves the issue of appropriate apps for a student with visual impairments.
