Dear friends.  I taught as an AT instructor for blind and deafblind people for five years in a voc rehab setting.  A car accident causing a stroke had me suddenly a VR client myself.  Years of fighting to get back to our work... I am connecting persons with disabilities with AT they need but cannot afford.. or loaning equipment to them while waiting on VR.

My question is ... when I was teaching... zoomtext seemed the preferred screen magnifier... but years later... a recommendation from my predecessor purchased a mac laptop... with zoomtext.

Maybe they didnt know that zoomtext no longer supports mac.

What is the goto screen magnifier... windows and mac??

Please advise,

Hi,

I recently attended the AER conference and learned that Chromebooks have a
built-in screen reader called ChromeVox. It is Google based, so limited to
web only, but many schools use Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides. The nice
thing is that it has a built in tutorial that leads you through the
commands which is a nice feature.

Screen magnification is already built into a PC along with many other
access options. But if someone wants to pay an additional cost, typically
it is zoomtext or magic
