Subject: [Personnelprep] Occupational Indexes
To: personnelprep@lists.aerbvi.org personnelprep@lists.aerbvi.org
Hello everyone,
You may have received this as well from ACVREP. Since the Occupational
Indexes are something that the O&M Division has wanted to work on and is
listed on our strategic plan, this seems like a good opportunity to
collaborate with ACVREP.
We have no control over who they decide to include from those who respond,
but *we need to make sure that there is a good response from key people in
the field. *Please share this with good professionals that you feel would
be good advocates on behalf of these professions. Thank you!

exploration, workforce development and writing job descriptions for hiring
and training.
- Do you have at least 5 years of experience as either a Low Vision
Therapist, Orientation and Mobility Specialist, and/or Vision
Rehabilitation Therapist?
- Or, have you moved onto supervise, train, teach or consult within
these roles? (Minimum experience is 5 years that includes at least 1 year
of practice.)
- Note--we understand that titles may differ greatly from company to
company and that you may not be called by the titles above. Here are the
occupation description and link to the O*NET Database to help you determine
if your experience fits this category:
Provide therapy to patients with visual impairments to improve their
functioning in daily life activities. May train patients in activities such
as computer use, communication skills, or home management skills.
