Contact your senators now to save gifted education funding!
Our deadline is 2:30
p.m.
http://ORANGE.hosting.lsoft.com/trk/click?ref=zqlus92gk_1-3110x32c3fx126492&

Today at 2:30 p.m. (EST), the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee will vote
to eliminate or reinstate the Javits Gifted and Talented Education program,
the only federally funded gifted program.

Without the Javits program, there will be no federal funds directed toward
gifted education.

We need your help NOW! Please contact your Senators through CEC’s
Legislative Action
Centerhttp://ORANGE.hosting.lsoft.com/trk/click?ref=zqlus92gk_1-3110x32c3fx126492&.
Making the call is easy – CEC provides contact information, talking points
and a feedback form.

With its focus on high-ability, low-income students, the Javits program
provides critical resources to help teachers and school leaders to identify
and serve gifted students.

We only have a few hours so please take a minute to make this important
call.  We need Congress to hear the voice of special education today, so
please join us in supporting gifted education.

If you have any questions, please contact Kim Hymes, kimh@cec.sped.org,
(703) 264-9441.

Thank you.

CEC Policy and Advocacy Team

P.S.  Read CEC’s letter to the Senate Appropriations Committee asking
Congress to save the Javits
programhttp://ORANGE.hosting.lsoft.com/trk/click?ref=zqlus92gk_1-3110x32c40x126492&
