Hi everyone! Many of us in the blindness field see situations which need to change, either in our professional or our personal life. You know something is wrong and you want to make a difference, but you feel overwhelmed or powerless to do anything about it.
My son Stephan and I were invited by New York’s AER chapter to develop a workshop for their conference in Syracuse October 21-23, to help colleagues who want to improve the situation. Our interactive workshop, “Changing your world, one step at a time: Practices for making a difference,” is based on the book by psychotherapist Dr. Jean-Robert Bayard, who linked activism with psychological well-being. Her book is called How to think if you want to change the world: Spiritual Practices for Social Activism.
We’re really excited about this workshop and how it can help folks change the world, especially in view of the fear and anger that has been expressed on all sides lately. We will share Dr. Bayard’s strategies, and invite you to share your experiences and apply these strategies to the challenges you’re facing in your professional or personal life. We each have the power to make the world a better place!
NYSAER PROGRAM!
Syracuse, New York October 21-23, 2018.
The NYSAER folks have put together an outstanding program that has something for everyone! For some reason, AER’s website has not yet posted the program, so I’m attaching it for you to consider.
Registration information is at https://aerbvi.org/event/together-we-create-opportunities-for-success-2018-nysaer-conference/ I hope you’ll come for the great program and networking opportunities, and join Stephan and me as we explore strategies to make a real difference – not only in our world, but in ourselves!
For those of you who are going to the SOMA conference in Tampa, Florida December 11, 2018, Stephan and I are also doing the workshop there – information is at http://somaconference.org/programdetail#SSauerburger .
Enjoy!
